Libby, studio co-owner and the School Director, began her dancing career at a very young age and has over 40 years of professional teaching experience. She graduated from Sumter High, attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri majoring in dance, and then went to Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Miss Libby is the studio co-owner and the School Director. Libby has worked with students in productions throughout the Sumter School District and with Gifted and Talented programs and has judged several local talent contests as well.  She shares her love of dance with anyone who walks through the door!  You may see Miss Libby volunteering her time at the Sumter Little Theater, local schools, retirement homes and she always loves a parade! 

Miss Holly has been an instructor at Miss Libby’s from the beginning.  YES, the entire 30 years.  While living in Charleston, she studied ballet with Robert Ivey Ballet Company.
Holly teaches three afternoons a week at Miss Libby’s. Her students range in age from two-eight years of age.
Holly is also employed at Oakland Primary School.  Her 27-year-old son, Caleb is a graduate of The Citadel and now attends CIU in Columbia.  Additionally, he serves as the youth minister at Grace Baptist Church.  Miss Holly’s daughter, 24-year-old Savannah Grace, grew up dancing at Miss Libby’s and is a recent graduate of USC Nursing School & a is currently a nurse with the Sumter School District at Crosswell Elementary School.

Ariel is a South Carolina native who began dancing at age two and performed with Miss Libby’s School of Dance and Gymnastics for sixteen years.  By age nine, she earned a spot on the Rising Stars of Sumter competition team where she received training in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, lyrical, contemporary, music theatre, and hip hop.  As a Rising Star, Ariel performed as entertainment with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line as well as the Miss South Carolina Teen Pageant.
In 2010, Ariel enrolled at Oklahoma City University as an Entertainment Business major.  While attending OCU, she was chosen to perform in several audition pieces.  She also worked with Oklahoma City University’s American Spirit Dance Company as an assistant sound technician on their “Home for the Holidays” production.  At OCU, she gained knowledge and experience in soundboard operation, performing, and putting together a large-scale show.
Ariel is currently Artistic Director of the Rising Stars of Sumter, the competitive dance team at Miss Libby’s School of Dance.  She also serves as the choreographer for the Sumter High School Show Choir.  Ariel hopes that sharing her love for dance and knowledge in the arts will help inspire her students to become artists who never settle for less than their best.

Camilla has been dancing at Miss Libby’s for 14 years as a member of The Company performance group and the Rising Stars competition team. Camilla has trained as a dance assistant for 7 years and is really looking forward to being on the teaching staff at Miss Libby’s for the third season. Thank you for the opportunity to work with your dancer. She plans to focus on coordination and rhythm introduced in creative and imaginative ways. Camilla also plans to keep students entertained while learning dance skills to help them to acquire a lifelong love for dance…like her!

Kinsey Hatchell began dancing at age 5 and has been performing with Miss Libby’s for over a decade. She is a member of the Senior Company and our dance competition team’s Super Stars. Kinsey has training in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, musical theater, and contemporary. She also has experience performing with the Columbia City Ballet and the Sumter Little Theater. Kinsey has won overalls and earned scholarships competing at dance competitions including DMI, Showstoppers, and Jump. She plans to continue her dance training at Miss Libby’s until she graduates high school. After which time, she hopes to pursue a degree in the performing arts field.

Rain trained at Miss Libby's as a competitive dancer and performer since the age of 5 years old. Rain’s passion for dance has continued to grow and she is now a dance instructor and master class teacher for all ages at studios around the southeast. Rain is currently majoring in Dance Performance and Choreography at the University of South Carolina- Columbia. When she’s not at school or at Miss Libby's, you can find her performing with Unbound Dance Company in Columbia. Rain’s specialty styles of dance include hip-hop, contemporary, lyrical, modern, jazz, musical theater, and ballet.

Jennifer began dancing at age three and was one of Miss Libby’s first students when the studio opened in 1989.  She was a member of the original Super Stars competition group with the Rising Stars and was also a member of the Columbia City Jazz Company in Columbia, SC.
Jennifer graduated from Oklahoma City University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance Performance.  After graduation, she moved to New York City where she continued her training as a dancer, singer, and actress.
Upon relocation to Sumter, Jennifer returned to Miss Libby’s staff as the Director for the Rising Stars competitive dance team, from 2007-2017.  She currently serves as the Director of The Companies at Miss Libby’s. 

Jennifer also choreographs holiday programs and school district events.

Jordan was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, and began her dance training at 3 years old at the Columbia Conservatory of Dance. Jordan joined the Columbia City Ballet’s Junior Company (CCBII) and the Conservatory’s competition team. Through the years Jordan has continued her dance education at many camps, including the South Carolina Governors School of Arts and Humanities, the New York City Rockettes, and summers with the Adrenaline Dance Staff. Jordan is currently a member of the Columbia City Ballet and is entering her sixteenth season as a Soloist. Jordan has been teaching at Miss Libby’s since 2011 and is looking forward to new dance season with all of you.

Rebecca Osteen grew up in Sumter.  She has been with Miss Libby since the age of six.  Rebecca was an original member of the Mini Company, the Junior, Junior Teen, and Senior Companies, as well as competing with the Rising Stars.  She began teaching dance since the fall of 2001 and is proficient in tap, ballet, and jazz.
Rebecca graduated with a BA in Early Childhood Education from USC Upstate and is National Board Certified.  She currently teaches kindergarten at Millwood Elementary School.  Rebecca is married to Cory Osteen and they have a daughter, Camdyn, and a son, Easton.

Alyssa began her dance training in Columbia, SC at Footnotes dance studio where she studied ballet, jazz, and tap. She continued her dance education at Ann Brodie’s Carolina Ballet and Center for Dance Education where she performed in numerous classical ballets. Alyssa participated in Richland Northeast High School’s Palmetto Center for the Arts program studying dance and had the opportunity to lead in multiple ballets, including Coppelia and The Little Mermaid, as well as participating in many musical theater productions. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a major in Chemistry, a minor in Dance, and a 2021 Masters in Teaching graduate. Alyssa has taught at multiple studios in the greater Columbia area and is also a Science teacher at Dreher High School.  Miss Libby’s is so fortunate to welcome Alyssa to our ballet faculty as she shares her
passion for dance with her students.

Jania started dancing at Miss Libby’s as a two-year-old and is now a member of The Company performance group, the Rising Star dance competition team, and our hip hop team The Crew. Jania has performed in The Nutcracker with the Columbia City Ballet and most recently been selected by Deviate Dance conventions/competitions to tour with them as an assistant to the choreographers. When she’s not at Miss Libby’s, you can look for her at the pool! Jania is a lifeguard and a member of the swim team at the Sumter Aquatics Center. Jania also enjoys playing the violin in the Sumter High School Orchestra.

We are so excited to welcome Megan to our teaching team this season. Megan is in her 15th year as a dancer at Miss Libby’s and is a current member of our dance performance team, The Company. She has been a part of our teacher training program since 2023 and is looking forward to leading her own classes this season. Megan is also on the soccer, track, and tennis teams at Sumter High School. When she’s not in the dance studio you can find her playing pickle ball, bowling, or working out in the gym with friends.
